D-day~~

It's the trial day tmr!! And Schnappi is not eating.... haizz... scully tmr she kaki lembek :P... haha!!

Well whatever needs to learn she oredi knows... whatever is wrong she shd also know... it's all up to her to perform now.

Counting down to the trials...

6 more days to the trials liao... woohoo~~ as usual i guess, will be another long day at the expo... with us patronizing BK, OJ and 7-11 once more... haha!! there really ain't many choices there... wonder how we will fare this time round... one more group training either tmr or wed nite... all the best to our training group and hopefully all the dogs will be guai guai and do well this sun!!

Upcoming trial...

Have registered Schnappi for Open this coming May 17... wonders if she'll do well this time... had some hiccups on the Send Away during Wednesday's training... hopefully all goes well this time round...

After thinking through, we've decided not to enrol Micole in this trial... although her heel work is pretty much ok... but her recall is a no-no... either she runs to you and sits her back facing you... or she'll somehow "auto-finish" herself... haha... and last night while she was training along the corrider... i heard a crash at the door... then Bb came back with her saying her recall is a fail-fail... she actually ran crashing to the door while practising... ouch~~

The beauty in Micole is she is ever ready to try again... even though she crashes herself many times... she is still very "optimistic" to keep on trying... this is something we find Schnappi lacks... anyway her sit and down stay is also not very stable... so maybe the next round ba... when she's more "trained" in this sense...

Schnappi - her "aggressiveness" & "laziness"

Schnappi girl has always been food-motivated... and last Sat nite when she came back from her usual walk, Bb said Schnappi actually snapped and showed aggression at another dog... prolly because the dog was too near to her daddy's pocket (where her food is..) for her comfort... this is the first time that Bb actually saw her doing that and was rather surprised.. this noti girl simply can't share... Yet very often she shares her drink bowl during trainings and is ok when we treat other dogs... but of cuz we must treat her at the same time lar :p... I suppose if u dun cross her tolerance level, she can still tahan... else she'll not give you any face... :P

Next is her "laziness"... she likes to play with her toy on the sofa... she will start gnawing and gnawing... but if it drops off the sofa, she'll give you the "Pick-up-for-me" look... initially we will always do so, but few gnaws later, it will drop off again... and she'll give you the look once more... and this could happen every 1 or 2 mins... so we decided to "act blur" when she shoots us "the look"... when she notices that we do not respond, she'll start making noises and scratching the sofa... she could do so for 5 whole minutes or more... simply refusing to get off the sofa to pick up the toy herself... so we'll all play the waiting game to see who concede defeat first... finally she bo pian... lift her butt off the seat to get the toy herself...

Sometimes it's funny to see her throw temper then bo pian go pick her toy.. after 2 bites it fell off again and the cycle starts once more.. after few times, she'll sometimes get agitated and either refused to pick up anymore or make off to get another toy... Guess she slowly understands that there's no maid on stand-by to wait on her... so she'll hv to learn to pick things up herself... :)

Micole turned 1 le..

Been too busy recently.. haven't got time to really blog.. but no matter what.. i need to write this down.. my little angel has turned 1 last friday.. on the 10th.. muack muack~~

Dear Mic-Mic.. Mummy had showered you with lotsa birthday kisses that day.. hope u like the new toys mummy bought for u... and we all had dinner at Happy Daze on Sunday.. glad that u've enjoyed the muffin thou it seems that jie-jie had eaten almost 3/4 of it.. may you stay healthy, happy and fearless.. and pls.. no more food picking.. eat well and grow up well ya...

Took a short video of Micole in Sunday's class... much to my surprise, there's a fair bit of improvement in her now... but of cos, there's still lots of things to learn and master... but I'm glad that she's taking it in stride and doing fine.. :P

Passion by the Beach

Dropped by the event yesterday... cuz we enrolled Schnappi in the "Fatal Distraction" contest, ie. a sit stay contest... Schnappi was lucky... she entered into the final round... barely missing the bak kua at the semi-finals... :p Bo pian, my girl is SUPER food-motivated!! Muahahaa!! Anyway, she STRETCHED forward sniffing the bak kua when the host brought it near... and I really mean STRETCHED... :P

With the final four dogs, out come the sausages... the dog that moved the first and most will be out... after the bak kua, the hotdogs was too much of a temptation to resist... so after a sniff, down went the sausage in Schnappi's tummy... slurp~~~ when the host brought out another piece to tempt the next dog, Schnappi practically walked over to salvage the piece as well... her OS might be "What the heck!! Since I've moved liao, I might as well help myself!"... hahaha... the audience all laughed at this point... oh my god, that's my greedy girl... :p

One point though, it would definitely be fairer if the sausages were "served" to the dogs simultaneously... No doubt my Schnappi would still be the first to break.. high possibility because I know my girl... but temptations should be used at the same time to see which dog moved first... to ensure more fairness in the game...

Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure Schnappi is happy as she is... after swallowing 2 hotdogs... no wonder she looked so contented in her aftenoon nap after she's back home... :)

Off for grooming...

Sent to girls for grooming yesterday... then we laze at Coffee Bean while waiting for them... Bb doing his presentation slides and me playing games... :)

After 3 hours, we walked over to see the progress... As usual, you can hear Schnappi howling once you are at the entrance of the store... she really has little patience and gets bored easily... we got her out for a walk since Micole wasn't done yet. we took a look at a 2-mth old Yorkshire... so cute and tiny but very ex... Schnappi started sniffing her, and the little one was trembling away....

Both the girls were tired out after the grooming... Micole snoozed off on my lap on the way home... Schnappi also fell flat when we reached home and started yakking away in her dream... :P so were we... shacked~~ Me hugged Micole and fell asleep while watching tv... :P

Micole in training... finally... :P

My little Micole has finally started her training... haha... she's almost 1 soon... I had started to teach her 2 months back... with Heel, Sit, Down... and she seems to respond rather well... considering me as a lousy trainer... wahahaha!!

Bb has taken over the task around 3 weeks ago.. and Micole has been receiving a 20-30 mins training daily since... now she can stand (with guidance), sit stay for a slightly longer period, and recall on a 6-ft leash... wow... she's so grown up le... :P Bb also tried off-leash... and surprisingly she could still follow... haha!!

Everytime the girls learn something new.. it always impress me.. Schnappi is currently a little down on her training.. and Bb is trying to find ways to fix this..

Heard Belle is undergoing training too... wonder how she's doing now... shd be seeing her tonite if Aunt E brings her along...

Schnappi turns 3!!!

Wow!! Time really flies. My Schnappi girl turns 3 today... meaning she's been with us for almost 2.5 yrs oredi... woo hoo~~~

Remember the day she first came home (see photo on left), I was still a little afraid of her... now she's a terror, a pest, a family and really a part of my life :) she's considered the first ever "huggable" pet i've owned so far... and now she's grown much bigger...

There are times when i find her irritating, esp when i'm eating and she keeps sticking her face to my food, or when she starts jumping onto the our bed early in the morning to walk all over to make sure we wake up, or her fur appears everywhere in the house... ... ...

There are times when i find that she's a little timid, like when things drop near her and created a loud noise, or when the thunder roars... these could be the few occasions that she might show a little fear or hides in the bathroom... ... ...

There are times when i find her very adorable, like when she lies quietly at my feet or beside me, or how her eyes gleam when she sees food & treats, or her gentleness when we share an apple... ... ...

All these said, she's a darling to me and i wouldn't exchange her for anything... i will still scold her for being notti, yell at her for bullying her sis, kick her off the bed and sofa... ... ... but i will also give her a pat when i reach home daily, get a kiss from her, allows her to eat more apples than me, and shower her with all my love!!

My dear Schnappi... if u can ever read... this post is dedicated to you... thanx for being our family... Daddy and Mummy and Micole LOVE you!! Muack~~~
